Shadow Play: Guess What It Is is similar to the authors previous interactive board book, Hide and Seek in Nature: Guess What It Is, both being a unique and creative, interactive book for young children.

Much like its predecessor, Shadow Play is geared more towards preschoolers than toddlers.

With six full-page folds to lift on the left-hand side of the book, readers see a shadow or outline of a form and try to guess what it actually is. Each spread offers some information/hints/fun things, to help you guess from the various options on the right. Lifting the flap or fold reveals what it actually is.

The illustrations are pleasing to the eye, being done in light pastel like colors.

Shadow Play tests readers' imagination, critical thinking, and visual and spatial awareness. A must for an lower elementary library!
