Sisters of Misery is a great book, I have read it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The thing about Sisters of Misery is that it has a lot of stuff that we teens go through. One thing I like about it, is that throught he whole thing it is also a mystery and you start think you know who the killer is but then you start questioning yourself and then that person is out of the question because he/she couldn't have done it. This happens throughout the book and you don't even figure it out until the second book so it keeps you reading. I love the author and how she writes; I would love to read more of her books if they are all as good as Sisters of Misery is.

This book was beyond riveting. Intense, strong, and heart-pounding, Sisters of Misery will keep readers back-hunched and dying to read more. Megan Kelley Hall is an author worth watching out for and stalked for the next release.
Every single last character is a power house that demands attention. Each character is defined by a single wordMaddie the innocent one, Cordelia the wild one, Kate the evil onebut surprisingly each characters carries so much more than that. They have their faults, their secrets, and vulnerabilitysome showing more than othersbut also the hidden face in the mirror.
Maddie the girl that followed the sisterhood in fear of the consequences should she take on a path to best defend her cousin against the Sisters. Maddie is one that desires the close-knit relationship that Cordelia has with her mother. Despite this jealousy Maddie turns to be Cordelias best friend. At times I wish that Maddie would stand up for both herself and Cordelia more but should it have been me, I would have backed away as well. I mean, seriously, Kate scares the crap out of me.
Kate, in my opinion, is freaking crazy. All I could think about is how can a girl like this exist? I swear someone should drop kick her to the floor and shove urine down her throat to see if she likes it. Disgusting.
Cordelia is almost the complete opposite of Maddie. Wild&unpredictable&with no boundaries. She is a girl that has that X Factor. Like both the girls and guys, I was infatuated and captivated by her.
I was enthralled and hanging off the edge of my seats with this book. Literally one of my books fell from my bookcase and I jumped.
It did seem odd that this book seem inclined to include urine in a lot of things&it added to the evil factor of Kate I must say though.
Overall: Highly impressed by this book!

Maddie Crane is a young resident of Hawthorne, a small town with a violent history. Though not as famous as the Salem Witch Trials, the persecution of any outcast female in Hawthorne at that time was just as bad, if not more brutal. Hawthornes past carries into the present though, as this small town seems set on not welcoming newcomers, especially Maddies aunt Rebecca and beautiful cousin Cordelia. Much of this grief comes from Maddies circle of so-called-friends, the Sisters of Misery. But soon, petty rumors escalate into a midnight excursion to Misery Island, a night that Maddie cannot remember no matter how desperately she tries, the night that Cordelia goes missing. True to their heritage, residents of Hawthorne immediately dismiss Cordelias disappearance as just another runaway teen and dont throw themselves into the investigation as Maddie does. Maddie knows that Cordelia would never just run away from her mother, but what is Maddies search to uncover clues going to cost her?
Sisters of Misery was a truly chilling and suspenseful read. There were so many secrets and twists to the story that kept me perpetually surprised and eager for more. It was incredible how Megan Kelley Hall was able to weave in Hawthornes haunting past and its present-day superstitions into Maddies story. I also really liked the incorporation of fortune-telling or Maddies familys ability to see clues about the future. Maddies insecure yet determined character only added to the essence of the story. This novel keeps you guessing into what really happened to Cordelia, and I kind of liked how at the end, not all my questions were answered; it leaves room for a sequel. It was mildly annoying at times that some details seemed to be snuck in, but the fact that Sisters of Misery was an incredible story overcompensated for that.
Sisters of Misery is definitely one of the best stories Ive ever read, and I eagerly await the sequel, The Lost Sister. Any reader will be able to get attached to this suspense-filled book with mythical aspects, a historical angle, and many, many twists and turns.

Hawthorne is like any small town, everyone knows everything, and is in everyone else's business. When Rebecca and Cordelia move to town Cordelia's cousin Maddie is very excited, her mother Abigail, on the other hand is not. Not only is Abigail mad that Rebecca moved in with them, Maddie's friends "the Sisters of Misery" are not welcoming Cordelia into town the way she wishes. Cordelia and Rebecca are gorgeous, so when they decide they want to open a flower/wicca shop people get jealous and in turn call them witches (their town is infamous for three sisters deaths during the witch trials). When the Sisters of Misery decide to make Cordelia's life hell they do it thoroughly, and she's not the only one to be affected. But could Maddie have stopped it, or did she unknowingly have something to do with it?
I have a thing about books , they have to be original. I hate run of the mill books; drama, fights, and the evil character gets stomped out by the good. I originally thought this book was going to be like that too, but i was pleasantly surprised. This book was amazingly well written, and had a wonderful plot. The characters were also very well developed and easy to relate to--or to hate with all your guts. Sisters of Misery is a very very good book, this is definitely a book you'll want to buy when it comes out.
