Six Months to live is a powerfully written book by Lurlene McDaniel. The main character is Dawn. Dawn was a cheerleader, with many friends, she even had perfect long hair. Until one day, everything comes crashing down. Dawn finds out that she has cancer. She feels as if her hopes and dreams are shattered, as if the moment she heard that she had cancer, she already had a death sentence.

While in the hospital, Dawn learns to have faith in living because of a girl she met named Sandy. Sandy helped her get through the days. Even after being released from the hospital, Dawn and Sandy remain good friends. However, when tragedy strikes Dawn, she must learn to keep living, just as Sandy taught her.

I loved this book. Even from the very first chapter, I was intrigued. Not only was the character of Dawn realistic, but so was the situation. The book is so powerful and moving, that it is hard to put down, even after already reading it.
