Ghost in the Machine, written by Patrick Carman, is an adventure mystery. I am recommending it for ages 10-13. This book is set in a kids journal and all of his adventures and thoughts. Ghost In The Machine also has other books in the series, this one is the second book.

A boy named Ryan is writing about his life and the mysteries that he discovers. The boy has a broken leg and is being separated from his best friend named Sarah. Ryan and Sarah are trying to solve a mystery about an old factory that Ryan's dad worked at. They come across multiple problems and new discoveries along the way. As they try to figure out the mysteries they also communicate in different ways to avoid being caught by their parents.

I find that all the characters are interesting in their own ways. I like that Ryan loves to journal about his life as he tries to solve mysteries. I also like that Ryan always keeps getting in trouble. Sarah also has a weird adventurous liking, and she's always sneaking around the neighborhood.

Overall I think, Ghost In The Machine is a great adventurous book that stays on the main topic most of the time well making fun interruptions. I would say this is a good book for young teens that enjoy lots of adventures.
Good Points
I think there could be more characters other than Sarah, and Ryan

Patrick Carmans Ghost in the Machine is about two teen best friends, Ryan and Sarah, who are officially separated from each other. Both of them cross their limits of curiosity and try to reveal the truth about the death of Old Joe Bush and his ghost, who they say, is in the gold dredge. They collect several clues about the dredge and Sarah risks her life by going to the dredge and posting videos about it. The climax of the story is unpredictable. I personally recommend you read the book and see what happens.

I really liked the book. The concept of the story was vivid, how they revealed the truth about the ghost of Old Joe Bush. Some videos they had were scary, but it was really worth watching it and knowing more about what was going on in the book. Gradually, they lead you to the end, which was obviously shocking for everyone to know who the ghost was.

Ghost in the Machine was a good sequel to the original Skeleton Creek. In Ghost in the Machine, Sarah and Ryan continue to solve the mystery of what happened at the Dredge, why so many of the Crossbones members have died suspiciously, and what the ghost of Old Joe Bush wants. Sarah continues to send Ryan videos and Ryan continues to write in his journal. A couple of videos show the ghost of Old Joe Bush.

I liked Ghost in the Machine because more things were being discovered. I also like the journal style. This book, like the first one, has videos with the reading, which I like because it gives a visual of what's going on.
