Amin Jaafari is working at a hospital with his fellow doctors, most of whom are Jews, when patients from a bombing start coming in. After a stressful day he goes home to find that his wife, Sihem, is not there. Late that night, he gets a call from one of the doctors at the hospital- he has to come in right away, for they have found the body of Sihem, and her injuries match the ones generally found on the bodies of suicide bombers.

This is a far cry from the sort of book I would generally read, but I got it from the library because it looked too good to pass up- and I had read most of the other books I saw, anyway. When I started to read it, I couldn't put it down. It was a rather easy read, and only two hundred and fifty pages long, so I finished it quickly.

This is some of the best fiction I have ever read, and I am particularly impressed by the way the author manages to deal with such a general subject in such a personal way.
