I am kind of stuck on what I think about this book. It is about the holocaust, which fascinates me, so that boosts it's approval with me. Hmm...

I liked the story and the plot. It was a very cool mix between historical fiction and a memoir, which I actually enjoyed very much.

The characters didn't really connect with me because you see so little of them with it being such a short book (about 200 pages). I also found the writing style a little iffy because it doesn't go into very much detail, again because it was such a short book. Another problem I found was that you knew the ending when you started the book. It is told mostly in flashback, but switches to present occasionally.

If you like historical fiction, this is a must read, but if you don't... maybe hold off for a little bit.

The Boy Who Dared&   by: Susan Campbell

What would you call a person, an ordinary person speaking out the truth against the most powerful leader of a nation?  This person is who I this person is who I call courageous, and tries to bring hope to a

 Nation.

As Adolf Hitler comes to power, he promised to bring peace and prosperity to Germany, and promised to raise the falling economy of Germany, Helmuth Hubener, a German youth, who knew that this Hitler will bring chaos to  Germany, Helmuths grandma, who was against the fuhrer, she feared that Hitler will snatch the freedom of the Germans, and will bring chaos to the fatherland. After three years, Hitler demanded that there will be no rights for Jews, and demanded war on Poland, France, and United states.  Helmuth said to himself,

This man has promised to bring peace and prosperity to Germany, instead, this man has showered upon us war, chaos, and destruction!

Ive got to do something about it, or else it will be too late. Helmuth decides to take a stand against the inferior Nazi and against the powerful Fuhrer, turn hatred into love, chaos into peace, and lies into truth.  But, Helmuth recognizes the execution he may face.

The story has won my heart; it is one of the many great books that have many lessons behind them.  The story has thrilling and exciting moments never to be forgotten.

I recommend this mind-blowing book, its a boy who changed Germany and turned hatred to love.

Based on the true story of Helmuth Hubener, this novel shows a boy's gradual progression from supporting Hitler whole-heartedly, to realizing the evil of the Nazi party, and eventually taking a stand against this evil. It was interesting to see how Nazism affected Helmuth and all his friends and family members. The author includes excellent historical information at the end. If you are interested in the Holocaust, this is a story that is not often told, but worth hearing.
