Theseus and the Cranes return to Athens, only to long for the Bull Court. Theseus misses the feeling of power it gave him, while Thebe and Pylia long to be free to love once more. There comes a day when the former Bull Dancers return to Crete, this time as diplomats of a sort.

This book is the sequel to The King Must Die, which was, quite frankly, amazing. The Bull from the Sea is just as good, and I knew it would be from the moment I picked it up- I think I may have found a new favorite author in Mary Renault. She is one of those authors who raises the standards by which you judge a good book, whose books you read very, very slowly because you don't want them to be over.

I swear that everyone should read this book- it is amazing and you are doing yourself a major disservice if you skip over it because it is old.
