What I loved: I love that this story is simple because it tackles some of the basic concepts that people who love books feel or do when they have books. One problem is the person who never re-reads, so their collection sits like a treasure. Another problem is the speed reader who wants the story so concise so they can devour more books. Then you have the moneymaker who is just out to get more books out but never thinks about the actual books they are selling. The heart of this book is what books teach us and what we gain by reading.
What Left Me Wanting More I wanted to know more about the labyrinth and who this cat called Tiger gained the ability to talk and seek out those he needed to help him save the books. I wanted more world-building and backstory.
The Final Verdict The story is short and straightforward and makes a massive statement in a temporary number of pages. If you are a lover of books and want to read about the various ways others might view reading, this is the perfect book for you.
