With the rise of popularity of the Elizabethian era, it is wise to do a little background check on this gloriana Queen and her ill fated family. This is a splendid book about the sickly Edward VI, child loving Catholic Mary (aka Bloody Mary), the red headed Queen Elizabeth, and the Queen of England for 9 days at the age of 16, Jane Grey. Out of all these characters, Lady Jane is the most mysterious. She was beaten by her parents to marry one she hated, so her parents could put her on the throne, only problem was that Mary was what people wanted (bad choice) and she was kicked off and later beheaded. A fabulous book written by the Tudor Queen writer herself, Alison Weir.
