Reader reviewed by Christopher Leo
This novel will appeal both to its target audience (young adult) and to adults alike. The detailed descriptions of both the above ground and subterranean worlds which Corban inhabits serve the novel beautifully. They offer a tool for the reader's imagination to fully construct a mental image of these vivid locales. Accompanying maps from the hand of the author help the reader locate characters within these worlds and offer a sense of realism to the fantasy realm. In many ways, The Hammer reads like you are watching a movie; I kept hearing theme music in my head. All in all, a terrific read. Recommended.
