What if you had a wonderful life, full of laughter, excitement, and a world of loving friends and family? And what if it was all taken away from you and you were banished into a cruel exile? That happened to Esther, a ten year old girl in her hometown, Vilna, Poland. She is jewish, and one day soldiers come and force her family out of their spacious house, and allow them only to take what they can carry of their abundant wealth. Esther can't even take her albums lest the soldiers take the rest of her relatives. Seperated from some of her family, Esther must learn to live in exile working for every little thing, and to appreciate and make a new world for herself. This was a true story, and it takes a lot to imagine everything you have being torn from you...only to be restored in another way.
