This book must be read. It starts with the mystery of who Smitty really is or what he is. The book there after revolves around the observations Ginny and Calder have of the weird kid in the neighborhood. Both of these characters are engrossed by Smitty's behavior towards the world and they try hard to make friends with him, or just get him to speak or make any other normal gesture. The end has a truly unexpected twist when the reason for Smitty's actions are revealed.  
 
   Its an amazing story because you expect for it to have a sci-fi ending, when the answer is something that can normally happen to any person submitted to that sort of family enviroment.  No way I would spoil the ending!

The Only Alien On the Planet is a book that grabs the reader and pulls them into the story. After a tragedy when he was younger, Smitty Tibbs now lives in a world of his own. He has focused on education his whole life and talks to no one. Out of no where a new girl, Ginny, comes to town, and tries to open Smitty up. Will Smitty's world come to an end? or will he shut her out and continue his old life? Read this book and find out!
