I totally wasn't expecting to actually like this book, because I thought it was just a throwaway dime-a-dozen novel. Then I read it, and found it to be completely enjoyable -- not filled with lifelong meaning, but still worthy of the hour and a half it took me to read it.
I really liked the way the story came together, with the alternating viewpoints and the hint of the grandmother in the background, which teaches the Princess a lot about herself.
I wasn't as fond of the Julia character. She doesn't really have a friend with her, just her mother, and I felt like there could have been more to what she learned than "being a princess isn't as easy as it seems."
But all in all, I feel like my hour and a half was well-spent.
