synopsis

Zoe is wary when, in the dead of night, the beautiful
yet frightening Simon comes to her house. Simon seems to understand the
pain of loneliness and death and Zoe's brooding thoughts of her dying
mother.

Simon is one of the undead, a vampire, seeking revenge
for the gruesome death of his mother three hundred years before. Does
Simon dare ask Zoe to help free him from this lifeless chase and its
insufferable loneliness?

this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK!!!! I
loved the character and the story. I wished things ended differently
though, but i still love it. This was my 1st ever vampire book i ever
read, leading to my quest for more vampire books.

this book was confusing. i was slightly heartbroken that simon had to leave zoe and that in the end she seemed to be alone, though the author may want us to think she's not. it was sad and sightly depressing and had me real confused. i liked the elements of mystery, mostly in the beginning, but overall the book was not as good as the author's other book, blood and chocolate. it's a quick read however and really kept me wondering if love and life are one in the same.

*Ahem. Please excuse me for a moment. I'm about to lose all dignity.

OH MY GOD!! THIS WAS AMAZING!! ABSOLUTELY FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!

*Okay, I'm done. I'm back. I have (some) dignity again. I'm good.

The Silver Kiss is about sixteen-year-old Zoe, whose mother is dying from bone cancer. Zoe isn't dealing so well with that, but who could blame her? Not only is her mother sick, and the doctors allowing Zoe to see her for shorter and shorter, farther and farther apart visits, but her best friend is moving away, her father has basically quit talking to her because all his energy is focused on Zoe's mother, and Zoe is feeling like she's slowly fading away, disappearing.

So one night, she goes wandering and ends up in a little park near her house, where she meets Simon. Simon is our vampire in this vampire story. (Don't worry, Ms. Klause tells you this right away, I'm not revealing anything big.) He's pale but incredibly handsome in an undead kind of way. And I'm not going to tell anymore or I'll ruin the story, so if you want to know more, you'll have to read the book.

This is the part where I tell what I thought of it, right? Huh, that might be dangerous territory. See above. No kidding, though, I honestly loved it. It's dark, creepy, sweet and Annette Curtis Klause doesn't write like she's aiming at YA readers, she writes like she's just telling the story in her head and who cares if it's not g-rated fluff. (Sore spot, don't get me started on that.) Just so you know, though, it is more PG-13, but there's really nothing inappropriate. It's just a book for mature YA readers. And I don't know about you, but I like that.

Conclusion: I loved it, even though,
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK DON'T READ THIS. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!! WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS? I SAID STOP READING!! STOP READING!!! LOOK AWAY!!!!! LOOK AWAY!!!! THANK YOU!!!! it has a really sad ending, like make you cry sad, and I like happy endings. OKAY, THAT'S ALL. YOU CAN START AGAIN READING NOW. So put this book on your to-read list, rush out, buy it, beg borrow or... er, if I tell you to steal, I'm an accomplice, aren't I? Okay, don't steal, but try to get it, because it's amazing. Happy reading.

The "Silver kiss" is an amazing book because it touches everybody's feelings, i cried after reading it, it talks about "Zoe", a girl who has been dealing with a lot of drama in her life, her mom was diagnosed with cancer and she's been in the hospital for a long time, her dad while taking care of his wife ignoring his young daughter, and a new boy in her life who by the way is a vampire, and helping him to overcome the power of his evil brother. Check out the ending of this book!

...But it was a decent book. The plot is simple, and predictable at times, but very interesting. The language is easy to understand and I read it with little difficulty.

The characters have little quirks and faults, but they are human ones - even though some of them aren't technically humans - that endear us to them.

There were portions that surprised me, parts where the author came through with surprising originality.

I recommend buying it!

I'd really give this book a 4.5, but anyhow... I recently reread this book, and I tell you, everytime it gets me. I love those forbidden love things. Zoe has her mother's inevitable death looming over her head, Simon is death, but has a mission. Simon and Zoe work together to kill Simons vampire brother who is resposible for all the murders occuring in their small town. They find each other and fall in love, I mean who couldn't fall for a vampire kiss???? When Simon completes his mission, he's finally allowed to be free, to wait up for the dawn with Zoe, one last time, and fade into the sunlight without being burned, with an,"I love you Zoe" as he fades. NOTHING BETTER THAN THAT!!!

This book was amazing. A girl and a vampire fall in love, sounds crazy doesnt it, but its not. Its a new version of your typical love story. Boy meets girl, oy falls in love with girl. You should no doubt read this book, its filled with mystery, emotion, and everything. Writing this review now makes me want to read this book again!!

This book defiently pales in comparison to Blood and Chocolate but it was definetly an interesting story. I think that if there was more character developement etc..It would have been a better read.
When an ordinary girl meets a mysterious vampire, they are drawn together and face a difficult friendship. In the end, you feel really unsatisfied with what happens.

Zoe having a hard time dealing with feeling about her dying mother when she meets Simon. Simon seems to understand the pain of death and loneliness and Zoe's brooding thoughts about her dying mother. Simon is a vampire, seeking revenge for the gruesome murder of his mother 300 years ago. Does Simon dare ask Zoe to help free him from this lifeless chase and it's intolerable solitude?

This book is for lovers of vampire fiction. I'm not going to lie, I didn't think this book was as good as Twilight. However, I think it is a good story. Zoe's dealing with her mother's death helped me put things into perspective. I am very afraid of death and Zoe's getting through her mother's impending passing helped me to see that death is not always scary. There is good in it too. Simon's story is definately unique and I really liked it. There was just something so morbid about it.
