The Supernaturalist is a very interesting futuristic story from a great author. Cosmo Hill lives in the Clarissa Frayne Institute for Parentally Challenged Boys, which basically means hes an orphan. The living conditions are brutal. The boys are forced to have products tested on them, which can result in sores and sicknesses. They are practically not treated like humans.

Somehow, Cosmo escapes, only to nearly die and have his life partially sucked away by strange blue creatures called Parasites. He is saved by a small group or people, who call themselves Supernaturalists, and starts to work with them. They make it their job to destroy the Parasites because they believe the Parasites suck the life and energy out of people.

But in order to destroy them from where they come from, Cosmo has to go back to the Clarissa Frayne Institute for Parentally Challenged Boys. He and his new friends are captured, and their enemies provide a new perspective on the Parasites that changes everything.

I thought this book was only okay. I really enjoyed the Artemis Fowl series, and since this was by the same author, I expected something more. The story was unique, but it didnt keep me interested for a long time. If there were a sequel to come out, I would not go rushing out to buy it.
