What I Loved: Logan is not good in social situations, isn’t used to having family or friends, or people who know how to handle his eidetic memory. His blunt approach to stating his thoughts and feelings led to some fairly humorous interactions along the way. He is quick to realize his new foster parents are hiding something and his past experiences make him quick to think it is because they are close to rejecting him.
All that changes quickly once he learns that his foster parents have superpowers. I thought it was clever that the rationale behind comic books was so that superheroes accidentally seen by civilians will just think they are people cosplaying. When the villain Seismyxer kidnaps his potential parents, it is up to Logan and his new friend Elena to try and save them.
What Left Me Wanting More: I am looking forward to the sequels of this series. The characters had much heart and humor. The book is written as Logan writing a letter to the unknown brother or sister. It will be interesting to see if he ever learns how he came to be at the orphanage.
Final Verdict: Logan’s smarts have always been misunderstood and set him apart from everyone else at the orphanage. With his new potential parents, Margie and Gil, he finally experiences the love of a family. It was a very humorous story and I enjoyed the heartwarming aspects of him finally finding people who value all of him.
