I really enjoyed this book! Kingston shares with her readers the complexities and difficulties in her development as a woman and a Chinese American. In doing so, she attacks the patriarchal tradition of Chinese culture and the racism of Americans. Through the legendary charcater Fa Mu Lan, she is able to find a voice for Chinese women and embrace her own past. This a an excellent read!
