I read this book when I was in the 9th grade. I didn't want to read it, but I'm so glad that I did. I am now 21 and it is by far my favorite book. I have learned a great deal about life by reading it and I hope that it touches the people that will read it in the future like it did me. Enjoy! :)

This was a great book! I would recommend it to ages 12 and older because that age, he/she can really start to understand the major conflicts and feel the characters emotions. Jennings gets seperated from his family and makes a new friend named Mark. Mark got made fun of a lot and Jennings stood up for him which proved to them both how close their relationship really is. There is a big surprise ending in book, and if you want to find out, read They Cage the Animals at Night!

The book They Cage the animals at night is one of my favorite books. It was a book taht you never want to put down. everytime you started reading a new chapter there was no way you were putting that book down. it was also a good way to realize that many os us are very fortunate to have the lives that we do. it was hard to read all the things he went through. when you do finish the book you will want to pick it up and read it again!! i reccomend this book to people that love auto biographys!!! i hope everyone enjoys this book!!!

This book is very good. It is my favorite book. It is very interesting because it is a true story. It is hard to imagine that real people have been through such hard times. The author of this book uses great detail to describe what happened to him and what he actually felt about everything. Even though there are many details, the book is not boring. It is a great book.

I thought that this book was extremely interesting. I couldn't put it down and read it faster than any other book. It was suspensful the whole way through and I kept wondering what would happen to him next. I'm glad about the ending and give Jennings a lot of credit for being able to write such a powerful book.

Jennings was a boy that lived in NY who had 4 other brothers beside himself. He lived with his brothers and his mom in a small apartment. THe story is about this boy who is taken away from his mother because she is sick and is put into an orphanage. He goes to many of them and passes some good and bad experiences. He is eventually returned to his mother but is taken away after a short period of time because she is still sick.

While he goes to this rich school he meets a bus driver who he considers his father and after he changes jobs and comes home finally he stays with his. My favorite character was jennings because he was very brave and intelligent! He was funny also because he thought of that stuffed dog as an actually person even when he was about like 12! But the book was great and i would recommend it to young adults to adults who love to read.
