At first I really didn't like this book but I wanted to give it a chance, especially because I'd heard it was so good and a friend of mine liked it. I couldn't stand the protagonist at the beginning. She really annoyed me and she (along with every other teenage character) felt incredibly stereotypical and it felt like another one of those stories about teenagers where the person doesn't know how actual teenagers act or where it seems like the author has never actually met a real teenager. And the premise seemed kind of meh to me and the writing was only so-so.
But then the story started picking up a little bit and the protagonist seemed more likable and I was hoping for a specific ending and it seemed plausible.
But then the end of the book turned so dramatic and over the top and incredibly unbelievable again and the ending I hoped for didn't even happen so it didn't redeem it itself at all. I will probably not be reading the sequel. I was just kind of disappointed by this and by everyone who really seemed to love it. Not my kind of romance. At all.
