As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he's a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.
Meyer has achieved quite a feat by making this scenario completely human and believable. She begins with a familiar YA premise (the new kid in school), and lulls us into thinking this will be just another realistic young adult novel. Bella has come to the small town of Forks on the gloomy Olympic Peninsula to be with her father. At school, she wonders about a group of five remarkably beautiful teens, who sit together in the cafeteria but never eat. As she grows to know, and then love, Edward, she learns their secret. They are all rescued vampires, part of a family headed by saintly Carlisle, who has inspired them to renounce human prey. For Edward's sake they welcome Bella, but when a roving group of tracker vampires fixates on her, the family is drawn into a desperate pursuit to protect the fragile human in their midst. The precision and delicacy of Meyer's writing lifts this wonderful novel beyond the limitations of the horror genre to a place among the best of YA fiction.

Twilight is a fantastic read. Very seldom do I a series that holds my attention. But this did!!
The relationship between Edmund and Bella is so romantic. The inclination to belief that vampires live among us is so compelling that I have come to believe it myself. I have always be intriqued by horror movies and films, but this takes the cake!!

After Bella's mother marries Phil, she can't stand to live in the same house. Bella decides to go live with Charlie (her father). During her stay in Forks, Washington, Bella meets Edward Cullen. Little does she know about his "special talents". Bella finds him mysterious and this intrigues her. Who wouldn't be intrigued by a deathly vampire?
Twilight is a novel that teachers the true meaning of love and learning about yourself. Meyer catches the attention of readers of all ages and keeps them wanting more. This exhilerating novel is not only full of love and action, but deception and courage. Read Twilight, if you dare.

Oh my word, could this book be any more amazing?!?
I remember I found this book a very long time ago [probably when it first came out] but I REALLY wasnt interested in it, it just wasnt my type of plot. Then I find out about the movie coming out, so I started to read it because thats exactly how it started with Harry Potter for me, and now it's one of my favorites! And let me tell you, I'm sad that I have to wait till tomorrow to start the next book in the series!
This book is fantastic, Edward and Bella are perfect, and you defenately wont be dissapointed!

happy reading!

Stephenie Meyer... the next J.K. Rowling.
Meyer's rivating novel about a 17 year old girl named Bella who ends up falling in love with extremely-hot-vampire Edward Cullen.
I absolutely adored this book. Stephenie Meyer's unique plot had my mother forcing the book out of my hands to get me to stop reading at 1:00 a.m. on a school night. Instead of hanging out with my friends after school and on weekends, my 14-year-old sister and I sat down and read for hours. My mother even threatened to take the books away from us if we didn't stop. I was mortified.
I suggest this book to anybody ages 11+. I am almost 12 and I read it with ease. If you are mature, even 10 year olds could read Twilight and love it as much as I did.

Isabella Swan moves into her father's house in
Forks, Washington from Pheonix, Arizona. Her first day of school there was one she would never forget. Edward Cullen is a mystery. Is he a vampire or not? Edward saves Bella from giving her life for him. "Don't worry Bella, I will carry you. Sleep now."
This book is fantastic! It's the best one I have ever read! The reader inside of me wants to know what Bella will do next. This book can be for anyone. This will be like nothing you have ever read before! I am reading the rest of the series, and I can't wait!

I dont usually read books, but Twilight caught my eye. After reading just a few pages, I was hooked. I read it about 2 years ago and have re-read it about 4 times. Ita bout an averge teenage girl who moves to forks to be with her dad and ends up falling in love with a vampire. Most people who have read it fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with eachother.

Recently, I read Stephenie Meyer's book "Twilight." I didn't think I would like it by the description but bought it anyway due to a friends persistance. I was, truthfully, surprised when I realized I couldn't but the book down.
The storyline details the development of a relationship between a dangerous vampire and a teenage girl, Bella (short for Isabella, 17). The first "sceen," so to speak, is a frightening situation of Bella about to be killed. Then begins the history: Bella's parents are divorced and she has decided to move from Pheonix with her mother, and new husband, to Forks, Washington with her police cheif father. Neither parent understands the change but must learn to accept it. On her first day of school she is quickly accepted by the locals and beegins to feel good in a new setting. But, on that very same day, she discovers that she is drawn to a certain boy, Edward Cullen, at her high school, and that, for no apparent reason, he seems to despise her. She learns from her classmates that Edward and his family are all adopted and are the school misfits, never appearing to fit in. Still, she has some attraction to Edward and is excited when she finds herself paired with him in biology and yet dismayed when he avoids her. She begins noticing him and his strange behavior (he doesn't come to school on the rare sunny days, he avoids her, clenches his jaw when he's around her, and many other little and big things). Others boys try to catch her attention but she turns them down. She beigins developing theories about his strange behavior such as, he is a super hero or has been infected by something. Eventually she comes up with the theory that he is a vampire. During this time, Edward begins talking to her, picking her up, and hanging out. It is eventually revealed, when Edward has just rescued her from peril, that he is a vampire and can read everyones mind except her's. He also reveals that he cannot read her, is attracted to the sent of her blood and has a hard time resisting killing her, is in love with her, his whole adopted family are vampires, vampires don't eat food, but eat animals and people, and he has been missing school on sunny days because he sparkles in the sunlight. Amazingly, to Edward and Bella's surprise, Bella is not scared of him and that puts them in a dangerous situation. The remaining part of the story details the relationship as it grows and a dangerous and almost deadly situation Bella is caught in with some other vampires. Edward loves her and protects her and everything turns out well, except for quite a few injuries. The other turn off, for Edward, is that Bella wants to become a vampire like him, so they may be together. With this the story ends in, Edward escorting Bella to the Prom and explaining that he wants their relationship to be as human as possible. The relationship will continue in the next book in the series, New Moon.
I found this book to be extremely romantic and yet easy to relate to, as a teenager. The tension between Edward and Bella as they struggle against nature is magnetic. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and feel that it reveals a lot about the teenage psyche. I will most certainly read the next book in this series.

Twilight is a Vampire Horror Romance that sucks you (pun intended) in with just the three first pages. When I read this book I was deaf and Blind to reality and everything else around me.When Bella moves to Forks she lives in her old room with her dad and says in her dreams "its too green here"
On the first day of her high school she meets Edward Cullen her science partner and soon-to- be boyfriend.Bella soon figures out that Edward Cullen is very enchanting but not only by his male-model looks.....
After Bella gets the news of vampirism she immediately wants to join Edward. In the undead way (Edward becomes disappointed with her wanting this). A day later Bella gets to meet his whole family. Learns Carlisle's story. And comes to the conclusion that Alice is very enthusiastic. That night a thunderstorm hits and the Cullens are very pleased. Why? Because then they get to use their "superpowers" for America's favorite past-time. Baseball. Oh,guess what Bella gets to come along. Big mistake. James,Laurent, and Victoria come across the Culens game and when James thinks of Bella as a snickers bar more than a human his tracking swith turns on.
At the scene of the crime in Arizona in bella's ballet studio James flips her around and breaks many of her bones............just for the love of dinner. Edward comes in and -of course- saves bella from either undeath or death. Jasper and Emmett take care of James.
A stitched up scalp, a broken leg, bruises over every inch of her body, a crescent moon on Bella's palm, and some horrible memories is what comes out for the sake of Bella's life. She ends up at the hospital for a long recovery.
Will Bella and Edward get back together?
Is bella saved from undeath forever?
Can Charlie really be that oblivious?
Find out in New Moon. The sequel to Twilight.
