"I'm the Idea Girl, the one who can always think of something to do."Angel Eastland knows she's different. It's not just her violet eyes that set her apart. She's smarter than her classmates and more athletically gifted. Her only real competition is Michael Vallant, who also has violet eyes -- eyes that tell her they're connected, in a way she can't figure out.

Michael understands Angel. He knows her dreams, her nightmares, and her most secret fears. Together they begin to realize that nothing around them is what it seems. Someone is watching them, night and day. They have just one desperate chance to escape, one chance to find their true destiny, but their enemies are powerful -- and will do anything to stop them.

This was a beautiful re-telling of The Princess and The Pea. The book was fantastic! It was the best re-telling I've read yet! For once the princess keeps her head on her shoulders and she isn't uber-sensitive or perfect in every way. Finally the princess is a normal girl put in a abnormal situation. This book brings realism and fantasy together in a creative mix. I also really liked that for once the contestants actually became friends. There was more then one main character. Overall it was a great book, one I'd recommend.

Midway through the book I said Violet Eyes was SO GOOD! I was mistaken. It's okay. I mean it, the ending of a book can really steer how a reader sees the entire piece. Not to be an expert on the matter, I mean I am still a writer in progress. As a matter of fact, I hope that my work is more than naught. But really, if you see things the way I do, you'll probably want to read the sequel, Silver Eyes. But also, if you see things the way I do, you'll probably think to yourself, "Wow if this book made it through the publishing process, M.Rose's book "Beautiful Sun" should have no problem being successful."

Now don't get me wrong. The first 6 chapters of the book is very addicting. She does have a good hook. The story is about how a superhuman girl, Angel, is spied on and deceived, so that her and other Violet Eyed teens could be used. Used for what? Well it changes in the book, because we only have Angel's point-of-view (POV) to see through and her enemies are doing a good job of keeping her in the dark. Midway through we get a good amount of information that we want to believe but this book is somewhat a mystery too. Just when you think you can trust someone, can you? Also the beginning of the book is a great tradition girl meets boy, teenager falling in love. I LOVE the beginning of the book.

But there are just certain things that never meet together, besides the few (truly just a few) randomly placed sentences. I do have to admit, the whole thing with Wendy (the best friend) and Angel spending the night together, and the short conversation at the end of chapter 1 fit very nicely (once you've gotten thru chapter 12 or 13 it finally makes sense). But come on! If someone was super-human, perfectly intelligent - perfectly, as the author coaxes the reader to believe from chapter 1, how could a mere human match in smarts, wit or logic to such an individual? Sometimes that really made me sick in the read of this book. It was like reading about how Superman was beat down by Billy Blanks or Hulk Hogan. I mean, in his day Hulk Hogan could've beat down most average guys because he was trained y'know. But honestly, he would've been no match for superhuman (alien actually) Superman - even in his prime! Well I had this type of thought reading through those last chapters. Especially since I couldn't see anywhere how Michelangelo (code name for Angel and the love interest) had shown any extraordinary intelligence (or extraordinary anything else) during the story. Yet the author does do a good job of making you believe they are such. Angel, the main character, is so loveable!

One other thing that began to get on my nerves and I had to leave siding with Angel for 2 seconds and I sided with Mike on this - who could you believe? There was a lot of story cover up and I began to wonder, how do you trust anyone? Everyone was lying or had a hidden motive. I didn't know who to really believe, which I admit, made the mystery of the book very enticing. Yet, it got to a point where you began to wonder why were they doing what they were doing? Why did they care? They could've just escaped. How did they know they could trust anyone?

Overall, I still think it was a good book in an okay sort of way. If you are willing to suspend your belief in several instances and hold tightly to the loveable characters they are introduced as in chapters 1-7, you'll get through the book fine. The story is very varied which helps things to never get dull. And if you like mystery, it'll be all the more entertaining for you. But just don't get too comfortable with how the book begins because the setting and atmosphere created disappears and there is a change in the type of story you are reading. Which if it was a movie, I think would've been great. The plot is very well put together but yes, there are places where it seemed like the author forgot to say something so perhaps she was like "oh I'll just drop this here". lol - sounds like something I am guilty of doing a lot in my book too... but then again maybe not! It's hard for me to judge. So I'm sure these were only oversights.

Violet eyes is a science-fiction book about a girl who is super human. Angel is good at everything, school, sports; she's the idea girl. The book takes a quick turn when Angel discovers that she is living in a museam town! The book has a crazy story line, and I mean that in a good way. I loved the book, just loved it.

This book is about scientists who created humans with violet eyes. They believed that these babies could help the world because it was failing to live. It is based n the future but the Kids all live durng different time periods. The scientists built museums based in different times live the '80s or the old west.

These Kids were smarter, healthier, and stronger then any human around. The basic story line deals with trust and competition.
