Not sure what a zine is? Or maybe you know and youd love to start one, but just dont know how to go about it? Whatcha Mean Whats a Zine? is the perfect place to start for both newbies and old hands.

Mark Todd and Esther Pearl Watson are old pros at making zines (Zine: a cheaply made printed form of expression on any subject; mini-magazines and/or home-made comic books) and theyve put all their expertise at your disposal. Examples and contributions from over 20 other zine creators also awaits you.

The book itself even has a bit of zine flair to it some pages look like photocopies, others are illustrated with black and white comics and yet others pack as much text as they possibly can into whatever space there is to fill.

Current fans of zines will get the most out of this book and its practical advice. People who prefer their magazines glossy and full of ads would do well to stay away; it will only make their eyes hurt and confuse them.

Recommended for zine aficionados aged 12 and up, though older readers may get more out of it than younger.
