This is a great book. The big picture (not the plot, the big picture. if the following were the plot, the book would suck) is that a creture half man/half shark created by Nazis to be the ultimate weapon hibernates for 50 years and wakes up to terrorize an island off the coast of Maine. I think it's Benchley's best work; better than Jaws. It's a great, great, book. especially the stinger in the middle. Has great sub-plots, and the climax at the end is exiting. This is a must read if you like S.F.
