Mrs. Dallas's book is probably the best thing I've read in a long while. This book is chock full of dramma and suspence, and all of the other things that make books great. This book was so much better than twilight, and I can see it getting that famous one day, if not even more famous. Phantom Island: Wind, is the first in a series of four, if my knoledge serves me right, and is so original! The ideas and plot behind the book are amazing. The story is about a girl named Whitnee, and her friends, Caleb, and Morgan. They all went to, and met at camp fusion, a place for troubled teens, and are returning to be counsellors there. While there, they break a major rule of the camp, which is not to cross the river. Opon doing so, theyre transported to a whole nother world on a mysticall island, and if things wernt bad enough, two campers follow along! They go through all kinds of hair-raising experiences trying to just get home. It really is an amazing book. I'm also lucky enough to know the Author, Mrs. D is my Pre-AP language arts teacher. I noticed alot of her humor, and personality in her book. For example, she is scared to death of fish, just like Whitnee. There are also other tid-bits of her in the book. When I was reading it for the first time, it felt like having a little piece of her personality in my hands. She really is a great teacher as well, always thinking outside the box...actually, I'd say she smashed the box and then preceeded to light it on fire, yeah, that sounds about right. She gets us kid motivated to learn, and not just language arts, other subjects as well. I didnt read alot before I got into her class, but she got me to read her book and I've been so immersed in reading since I've forgotten how to work a television. Reading Mrs. D's book was a wonderful experience, and I hope to get my hands on Water, the sequal to Wind, verry soon. I know shes hard at work on it, and for some sneak peaks, check out Krissi Dallas on facebook, shes killing us with sentences and sneak peaks on water. On a final, concluding note, Thanks Mrs.D, for your wonderfull book, and I hope to make many more memories with you and your writing next year. ~Sonia Pennington

Phantom Island: Wind is probably one of the best books I've read, in a long time. From the very beginning, the use of imagery, and perspective paints a picture of the life of Whitnee Terradora. This book was like an oasis in the desert that is local author's books. The vivid White Island with its inhabitants sucks you in, and you turn the pages. This book has many of the things teens and young adults crave in literature. Action, adventure, romance, and suspense. Personally, if this book had a genre, it would be "Awesome." It's contents don't really fit with just one genre. The uses of the four elements catches the eye of the imaginative; not unlike the popular tv show Avatar: The Last Airbender. In conclusion, this was a very satisfying book. I completely enjoyed this book. Congrats, Krissi on this masterpiece.

From the beginning Phantom Island indulges its reader with the drama of a teenage girl, Whitnee, trying to find who she really is along with the help of her two best friends Caleb and Morgan. The three best friends start their adventure at the summer camp where they met, but soon learn that this camp is more than just a home away from home. After a mysterious phenomenon, the three friends, along with two other campers, find themselves on the White Island. The five of them are immediately swept into the cultures of the Island's four main tribes. As the friends attempt to get back to the "Mainland" they encounter many obstacles and learn more than they thought they knew about each other along the way. The mystery in this story keeps you thinking and second guessing who should and should not be trusted. Throughout the novel I found myself contemplating the motives of each character's actions with Whitnee. Overall this book was very intriguing. If you are into a balanced mixture of friendship, romance, mystery, and adventure, then you should definitely pick up this book. There is a little bit of something for everyone in Phantom Island. Phantom Island, I've never felt more involved in a book ever in my life. The detail and imagery is amazing! Krissi Dallas does an amazing job of displaying the hardships of being a teen (I should know, I am one). The main character, Whitnee, is really someone you can relate to and learn from. I give it 5 stars for creativity, humor, and penmanship. plus and additional star to Krissi for being awesome!

Phantom Island : Wind is very possibly the best book I have ever read. It's one of those books that has a little bit of everything all in one book. It has adventure, romance, fight scenes, magic, friendship, life lessons (whether they were intended by the author or not), and just about everything in between. The main character, Whitnee, is extremely easy to relate to and one finds themselves looking through her eyes and comparing her situations with ones we have lived in our own lives. This is one of those fiction books that you can almost believe could be true, if only you knew where to look for it. The book reminds me of those clothes that are one-size-fits-all; it's fitting and the perfect read for everyone! :) 5 stars, all the way! And a warning- the suspense and excitement level in this book is so extremely high that you will NOT be able to put it down! Enjoy :)
