This book is about a girl named Tamisin who has other things to deal with other than zits and a growing body.she comes home to school one day and purple wings just go and POP!out of her shoulder blades!As if things could be any worse, the goblins that have scared the wits out of her since she was11 have kidnapped her and, taken her to the realm of Fey.Oh!Who will ever save her?Try talking to her crush Jak who happens to be half goblin! ;p

This book rocked and rolled better than KISS on a world tour!!!!Imagining being a mature girl who is suddenly brought into a strange world as if you've walked right into a fairy tale book!It's got magic ,adventure,romance,fighting,compremising ,kidnapping,ect........THE best book ever!!!!!

I'd recomend this book for fiction loving girls of all ages!!!If you read this book and think it's lame you need to rewire your brain cause you are crazy if you don't!!!~Emily :D

    Pike is an amazing author. For a debut novel, the writing is amazingly crafted. When you pick up Wings, please realize that it's the first of four novels (the second due out June 2010) so it's more background information than anything. It sets the tone to a story with a very unique approach to fairies (or fae).

    Laurel is a really developed character, but the other corner's of her love triangle aren't so lucky. They have three more books to grow in though! David is just two nice in this novel - which is the reason my mom left her ex-fiance to he better shape up! Tamani is going to be a strong character - I can feel it!

   Wings is a really enjoyable read and I'm anxiously awaiting its sequel!

Wings: A Fairy Tale brings a new type of fairy tale for us to enjoy.

What I loved about Wings: A Fairy Tale was the idea of having a human sprouting real wing and the little details like sparkling cheeks and stuff. I loved the fantasy and the cute magical creatures. I love the creativity of the entire plot especially with the goblins. I use to think there was one type of goblins but in Wings, I was sadly mistaken. There were tons: bird goblins, raccoon goblins, etc.

Another thing I liked about Wings was the fact that it brought A Midsummer Nights Dream to it. There were aspects from that play that was brought into the plot. Things like Titania and the human who became a donkey-head person by magic and stuff like that. I liked how E.D. Baker managed to look beyond the play and draw her own conclusions and her own story.

Tamisin was a girl who was mature beyond her age. I always thought it was funny that she didnt really freak out from her wings and stuff. I mean, she was surprised and wondered what happened but she didnt outright freak out which is something I totally would have done. In a way, being mature was nice but it didnt make the book too realistic.

The ending didnt surprise me that much especially since the synopsis from Amazon totally ruined it. Before I even started the book, I already knew that Titania was her mother and that made her at least half-fairy. I think the summary basically ruined the book&but at least I got to read about the process of her finding that information out.
