YOU ARE ENOUGH is a beautifully illustrated children's book that teaches that not everyone is the same, and that's okay. The world would be a boring place if everyone looked the same. It doesn't matter what your skin looks like, what your face looks like, or if you have a disability. It's just what makes you, you and that's enough.
The main character has Down's Syndrome and there's also some facts about people with Down's Syndrome in the back of the book. I love how the narrator (Sofia) address the reader and you actually feel like she's talking to you. The message is inspirational and very important for children to hear. There are underlying themes of friendship and how everyone needs a friend. The illustrations are vivid and pop off the page, and I love the various people included (skin color and differences).
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to all preschool children and it would be perfect for a school library. Sofia is an inspirational person and this book is about building others up no matter their appearance.
