The writing style is akin to a graphic novel. The font is perfect for those just learning to read, as the letters do not run together. The author uses vocabulary easy for these same readers to comprehend, while at the same time not constantly using “first words.”
I absolutely LOVED that there was a word count once we finished chapter three. This was a unique addition to the book, and a fantastic way to celebrate these milestones.
The illustrations are crude and cute. They are in greyscale, so my children didn’t like them as much.
Anyone can celebrate Christmas/believe in Santa, no matter who, what, or where they are.. even if they are discarded objects living in a literal dump. I enjoyed the concept of the plot, probably looking more into it than a child would.
