YABC: What gave you the inspiration to write this book?
Talking to my astrophysicist friend (and future co-author) about his work. Astrophysics is such an incredible topic to be amazed about!
YABC: Which fact did you find most interesting to learn?
Without a doubt: the extreme density of black holes. For comparison, our Earth’s whole mass would shrink to the size of a nut to be as dense as a black hole! Can you even imagine that?
YABC: How did you ensure that the book is engaging to your audience?
I want to give the reader a feeling of closeness with the characters I create. I also try to find ways to tell something interesting in a funny way to create a bond with readers. It’s important to have confidence in the reader’s commitment and ability to understand.
YABC: If you could only write one genre for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I guess it would be comic journalism because I’m very curious about what happens in the world and very eager to understand it.
YABC: What can readers expect to find in your books?
Jokes, sensitivity, careful attention to the facts depicted and a lot of personal commitment.
YABC: What is your favorite snack when writing?
I’m actually quite good at not eating between meals!
YABC: If you were able to time travel would you want to visit where your book is about?
I’d absolutely love that! With one exception: I don’t want to get lost in space or be “spaghettified” in a black hole!
YABC: What do you do when you procrastinate?
I read the news, I watch random informative videos online, or cook for a looong time.
YABC: What’s up next for you?
I’m starting my next book which a true story about international spies!
YABC: What is your favorite holiday or tradition and why?
In Geneva, Switzerland, we have the famous “Escalade”, a battle celebration during which we crush a big chocolate cauldron!
