Show-and-Tell Day! (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood)

“Show-and-Tell Day!” is a Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood book, adapted by Alexandra Cassel Schwartz, with poses and layouts by Jason Fruchter. Daniel is super excited to bring something to his classroom to show off to his friends, but he doesn’t know what to bring. He thinks about taking his baby sister, Margaret, but his dad tells him that’s not the best idea. When he goes back to his room to figure something else out, he looks around and finds a shoebox—the answer to his problem! He decides that he is going to make a little bed for his stuffed animal friend, Tigey the Adventure Tiger. He uses crayons and even adds some supplies to make it warm and cozy, especially for Tigey.

When Daniel gets to school, he sits through his friends’ presentations and soon gets to show his new bed. The pride he feels in his friends’ items, and the care they show for him and Tigey's little bed, is more than evident through the illustrations on each page as well as the friendly questions they ask and words they share with Daniel. The book leaves readers with a warm, fuzzy feeling, pondering what they might make for their own show-and-tell day!
