Good Points
Whisper is a little dragon who finds it difficult to be heard by his family. They always seem to ignore him. When he sees his family are harming the mountainside and all the other creatures who live there, he tries to figure out a way to stop them.
What I liked: Whisper is determined to do what is right and help his animal friends. I feel like being ignored makes him more aware of what is going on around him and he sees what others do not. He had to come up with a new way to communicate and he does with the help of Owl and Bear.
What left me wanting more: I feel like his family should have been more aware of what they were doing, but it took Whisper doing something extreme for them to pay attention. Some people are like that I guess, too wrapped up in their own lives to pay attention.
Overall this was a charming story and it encourages children to ask for help when they need it and there is always a way to get something done. The illustrations were cute and colorful and kids will love them.

The story of Whisper the little dragon, who learns to make himself heard and show the other dragons it's important to take care of the forests. While all of the big dragons think its very fun to light things on fire, Whisper sees this is hurting his animal friends and their homes, and he doesn't stop until he can make the other dragons see this too.

I'm not quite sure how Whisper's drawings get through to the other dragons when, hm, looking outside at the burnt trees doesn't, but he's admirably persistent. And it proves once again that little voices can make a big difference, and sometimes it takes a different kind of communication for dragons (or people) to understand a lesson.

Whisper is also adorable, and I love seeing him scheme up a big plan with all of his forest friends.
