My Ganesha Chaturthi: Words of Wisdom is a gorgeous picture book that beautifully captures the joy and warmth of the ten-day Hindu festival.

The story follows siblings Aadi and Leela as they learn about the significance of Lord Ganesha alongside their grandmother.

I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant illustrations! They are rich, colorful, and do a phenomenal job of bringing the festive celebrations to life, from crafting clay Ganeshas to the colorful visarjan procession.

The author seamlessly weaves universal values like patience, humility, kindness, and respect into the narrative. The way the book breaks down the symbolic lessons of Ganesha's elephant head, large ears, and trunk makes ancient wisdom incredibly digestible and relatable for young readers.
I love the educational resource found in the back matter. The thoughtful Note for Parents and Teachers provides excellent guidance on how to facilitate meaningful discussions about the festival's deeper meanings. Paired with a highly useful Glossary, the book ensures that children (and adults!) can easily understand and connect with the cultural terminology.

Highly recommended for home libraries, multicultural classrooms, and family reading time.
