Night-time explorations

Packed with fun information and activities, Backpack Explorer: Night Walk is a great addition to your shelves!

Starting with fun facts on the moon and then eventually delving into different night life, this was a hit with my explorers!
Like the previous books in the Backpack Explorer series, the cover is thicker than a paperback but not as thick as a hardback and is coated in a protective material making it lightweight and durable. Perfect little hands, as well as all the outdoor exploration. The information is well laid out making it easy for kids to use or find something specific.
Giving extra depth to these field guides it the beautiful pictures. The color pallet captures your attention and are highly informative.

I love all of the activities! They are great for encouraging for children just starting to get curious, as well as avid explorers. Paired with a book on constellations or nocturnal animals, this would be great for a science curriculum. I, personally, love the idea of feeding our moth friends!

For a more personalized adventure, there are several “night-patch stickers” children can place throughout the book once they finish a section.

Like others in the series, this book does come with a small child sized magnifying glass for an up close look at whatever you may find outside in the dark, however it is flimsy and makes most things blurry unless you’re up super close.

This would be great as a gift for going camping for the first time.
I highly recommend for elementary classrooms, school libraries, and public libraries. Readers will learn a lot and have fun doing it with Backpack Explorer: Night Walk!
