i love this novel !!!. A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove has inspired me in many ways. The best part about this novel is that it shows the teenage audiences the real meaning of love and hope. The character Carl is the one who has helped most teenagers realise that. I had to read this novel for english and i first thought "hey this book seems really boring" but when i had the chance to read it, then i knew how important it was for me and other students.
If i had the chance to read this novel again i would but too bad that the teacher has to collected it!!! ...lol... well i hope that the other readers' have enjoyed this novel because im quite sure that i did!!!
thank you James Molony for writing a beautiful novel like this!!!

I chose this book to read. We are also reading this book at school, but I had already read it a couple of times. The main character, Carl Matt, is different to your average hero. Change of build and personality. He has spirit he is an excellent example that not every hero has to look like a hero. James Moloney can really write, I've read a couple of his other books. I recommend this book to anybdy with an open mind to new things. There are thrills all along the way!

I had to read this book for school and was reluctant to start reading it, but once I started reading i couldn't put the book down. I thought it was really good, it tackles many issues such as gambling, weight issues, parties and many other things without making it boring. I would reccomend this book to anyone looking for a great read!

A Bridge to Wiseman Cove is a very was a very touching story and really opened my eyes to how kids and teenagers must feel when they are deserted by their guardians.
At the start of the story, it was really intriging how James Moloney described what the matt kids acted like and knew about each other. While getting into the heart of the story the author described the characters feelings in a very descriptive way which really let me understand the story more and more.
My fave part of the story was in the end when things were finally turning around with Carl. he had recognised and acknoledged all the bad things of being a Matt and had overcomed them and dat people is one of the greatest acheivements of all.

I think this is a book everyone should read because it has somethink for everyone in it, Harley is my favrouit persone because he gets into lots of trouble all the time. Aunt Berrly is the worst out of the lot she is a witch she hates neally everyone and all she wants is money and a boyfriend.
My teacher made me read it, so we could do work on it, and i don't blame him for making us read it, for a change i liked a book and i don't read for engoyment i read because i have to.

A Bridge To Wiseman's Cove review
by Zyrad
A Bridge To Wiseman's Cove is one of the worst books of all time. The book is just worse than the book you had to read in the previous year, Johnny Hearts Heroes. After reading This book I realised it was like a donut; it had nothing in the middle. The plot of this book was so awful as it was so boring and it wasnt very well polished. Also it was very predictable, like when they found out the mother was away for a long time on one of her holidays; I thought then that the mother was dead and you would find out at the end and there would be some stupid soppy story to go along with it.
Just like the plot, the characters werent very well polished, they were silly and some of the characters just changed in the middle of the book. It also went against Australian law; Australian law states that you have to finish year 10 before you can go on to work, something the author didnt think about.
Some bits in the book were so empty-headed and the author made some characters look like total dimwits. Like when they were looking for Harley out at sea when the boat capsized, nearly everyone would have realised that theres something called the current. The current would carry a thing in the direction the current was heading, if that thing in question was is in the current. But the search party didnt think about that; so it took an ex lumberjack, barge driver to realise it.
In addition when Carl bumped into Joy, you wouldnt pick up the sharp nail-like objects until your hands bled and you were in great pain. How would you no that Joy, being short on cash, didnt try to save on money by buying the cheapest brand or get second hand items, which could have been rusted and you could of got tetanus and judging Carls background he wouldnt of got a tetanus shot and could of died.
As you may have figured from the above four paragraphs, I hate this book and I feel sorry for all unlucky people who have to read it. Lets just hope to god that there isnt a sequel (which there very likely will be if more unlucky grade ten students have to buy the book and read it against there will). Hopefully you have a really good English teacher and you can beg and plead her to change the book to something less unconsciously foolish, fatuous, vacuous, puerile, inane, inconsistent, depressing, abominable, onerous, contemptible, vile, ungodly or unholy book to something more balmy, desirable, stupendous, exemplary, tip-top, supereminent, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, superexcellent or zestful book that you will want to read.
But until that time, just read the book, do the piece of assessment on the book and when your finished with the book, invite your friends (who also hated the book) to a flat abanded area and make a bonfire with your copy of the book.

This book was the best book i have read in a very long time. I reckon this book was a lil boring to start off with I was going to ignore it at first but after I read a couple of pages I was quickly caught up in the book the emotions of the characters. I felt sorry for carl the abuse from his aunt he had to endure. I also felt sorry for the mistreatment of maddie from nathan.
at the end i just couldn't put the book down I hope that there might be a continuation of some sort maybe another novel to show how carl is doing.
this book is a real emotion stirrer in so many places.
I rate this book a work of art and one worth reading by everyone this is such a great book.
