My name is Zoe Koster, and I am a 15 year old reader of 'A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove' by James Moloney.
I absolutely love this book. I'm doing an assignment on it at school. I truly admire the sense of writing James Moloney does. I love the way he makes me feel as if I am in the story when I read it. I also admire the way he throws words together, and makes similies with them. His writing is amazing. One day, I'd love to meet him. That's a real writer!

A Bridge to Wisemans Cove Review

This book was very interesting and had a very happy, sad and amusing storyline. I think the book was well written and since it was written in third person so I understood what all the characters very well. I liked the themes of love and family which was shown by the kids being abandoned by their mother and being taken in by Joy Duncan. I think this is what made his book interesting.

In the book the main theme I believed was family. There were many family issues in the book with the tension between Harley, Carl and Aunt Beryl. Aunt Beryl does not welcome them as family. She is only interested in letting the boys stay so that she can obtain their social security payments.

In the book Carl had issues with his body image and self-esteem. Carl was too self-conscious about his appearance He wore a t-shirt as a paltry ruse against public humiliation. (p44) This is common in most adolescence teens whom I would recommend this I book to.

Overall this book is very interesting and in some parts amusing and is a pretty good book to read if you are in year 9 and you would probably like it too. Some parts are boring.

I rate this book 3 out of 5.

I thought this book was Awsome... I could totally relate to Carl!!! I've watched naked girls before!!! Man their hot!!! Just kidding!!!(kinda)
But this book was very good I wish he would have gotten the hot skinny chick instead of the fatty!!!!!
When him and Justine were walking home from the pizzia party they should have made out!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOO YA

I didn't think much of A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove at first. To me it was just an ordinary boring English book that was compulsery to read for the school. I picked up like I was going o die of boredom by the first page, but it wasn't like any other book I read. I turned to the prelude (which I normally don't bother reading). At withing the first line of words it captivated me and took my breath away. Yes it wasn't like books like Twilight where it gets the whole world stirring but this book is unique, it has this special way of relating to everyone. Carl's life is so sad and it makes you want to keep on reading every page just in hope that it will only get better. I wouldn't recommend the book to people who don't like reading because they will not understand the themes and attidues of loneliness, hatred and unrequited love. But to everyone who does love reading grab the book out of your library, go buy it or order it somehow. This book will never be forgotten, well at least not with me.

'A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove' is an extremely interesting book. It features what most books really don't have, hatrid and love. Even though a 10 year old person has read this book, I found it utterly interesting! Carl is just one typicla boy, and Harley is just a little troublemaker, Justine is cute and casual, and Maddie is free and unfortunate in love life.

This book was great i loved that it involed more into the Matts background and showed that Carl is no where near the same as any of them.

Carl and Harly going away to live with Aunt Beryl was a good idea at the start but when we got to see what Beryl was like, i started to get scared for them, she chained harly, leaving him alone i mean he could have died but did she care NO!! and i couldn't belive that the cop guy actually gave it to them, it was unbeliveable.

When Carl got his job at the barge i thought that that would be great that he was going to get his own money from now on but then Beryl got in the picture, i really wanted to knock her out i mean she was so mean and cural to them and she thought that she deserved it god i hate her.

When Carl figured out that his mum was dead i cried like litarally cried because it was sad and i couldn't hold it in and i lost my great aunt that day as well so it was hard listening to him losing someone when i also lost some one that week. Carl felt as if his mum didn't love him enough to say it, i think that's why it was really important for him to know if she was coming back home or not. When he found out that she was i felt happy for him and Harly.

This was a great book to read and i loved it.

5 STARS IS MY RATING.

I Read this book in class as a Text Study, I found it very intruiging and easily understandable from a Year Nine's (Ninth Grader's) point of veiw. I must say though, it was slightly dull and unsatisfying in parts, but, all in all, it was a great book and I highly reccomend it for further generations and younger years to read.

I reacon it was the best book that i had ever read it was an inspiring book it made me feel you can never be sure of what comes around the corner and you never no what your gonna get but then it all turns out good in the end. We all face difficult things in our life and as carl took it, it wasnt a good thing to haold it in and carry all his troubles but any way i loved the book and i recommend it to every one that wants to read a good and interesting book or just wants to find a book to study.
