I'm going to be honest, the only reason I picked up this book was because the cover - the octopus is my favorite marine animal so it pulled me in right away with it's breath-taking cover image. I am so glad I got to read this with my children.
The images are so beautiful, and of the highest quality.
There is minimal text on the pages, which is great for littles with shorter attention spans; but you can tell that the author put a ton of thought into what was being said on the pages. The descriptions are so vivid, there is no problem visualizing what they are talking about, and feeling like I was really there.
I really liked that a small tidbit was included about the 'Sea Change Project,' as well as the mention of the documentary.
A Journey Under the Sea is making a great addition to my homeschool library, I cannot wait to read it over and over again.
