Not another "Tolkien/Game" fantasy novel, and that's a good thing. .

I'm not a big fan of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones or most Fantasy. There is nothing in it for a Bi-woman of color like me. I'm also not a big fan of YA novels save Harry Potter.

Adventurers Born: Taking the High Road is an easy and quick read for 600+ pages, you literally can't put it down and there are very few places where the story slows down. The characters are a lot of fun and despite being "types" Know it all girl, Loveable big guy, Rogueish hero and so on they manage to be fun and play off each other and grow.

The story plays on an old trope turned on its side, "deliver the bride, only the bride is groom with a secret with a twist in it, The world is rich and after I did some research on legendary animals of North America, it just blows my mind. This is a world where magic has replaced technology, sort but not and there is an old west cowboy field thrown in without it being set in the old west. I want to live in this world.

While not perfect, the Book is solid and if your LGBTQ or a POC, then you'll find the fantasy book you're looking for and If you're not, you'll find a good story too.

Good Points
