This book is set in 1744 and told from the perspective of the two main characters: Jacques, the son of a French military officer, who comes to fight in Canada, and Two-feathers, a half-French, half-Mi'kmaw boy who already lives in Canada. The two perspectives work really well in the novel, making it a pretty suspenseful read. Something cool happens, too, when the same scene is narrated from the perspective of both characters. And, of course, there's a beautiful girl in the middle of all this.
Overall, a highly recommended book, especially for lovers of historical fiction, but really for anyone just interested in a good read.
