I read this book in my class as a novel study book.I thought it was very interesting because I like to find out about the days way way back. Each day from Monday to Thursday we would read 1-2 chapters. Each time it ended,I wanted to read more!I couldn't though:(Anyway it was a great book to read.(I was glad that at the end Laura Eastman was against slavery)!

this book was not one of my favorites. i don't enjoy history all that much. if you do, you might enjoy this book.
it is about a young boy, named Martin who is a runaway slave. he is brought by a boy named Joel Todd to the house of Laura and her brother bert. slave catchers are all around. when bert get's arrested for questioning, can laura and Joel pull this off, and freea young boy slave? jennifer,
