Green Tree Ant’s New Nest is an engaging nonfiction book perfect for young readers and newly independent readers. The use of real photographs brings the content to life and provides a fascinating look into the lives of green tree ants. My favorite fact was learning that the green tree ants tickle the larvae until they emit the sticky silk used to weave tree leaves together for their home. The sentence structure, word count, and word choices are perfect for young learners. The glossary in the back gives additional help for content-specific words. Overall, this is an engaging read perfect for young readers and ant fans.
