Hello, I’m an Axolotl is the fourth book in the Meet the Wild Things series by author Hayley Rocco and illustrator John Rocco. This non-fiction book introduces readers to the world of the axlotl, telling its story from the animal’s own perspective.
What I Liked: Axolotls are popular creatures, particularly among the book's target audience. The book provides interesting facts, and I found myself learning quite a bit. For example, axolotls can regrow their limbs and even parts of their brain and heart. Like other books in the series, the illustrations are superb, and the animals feel real, like they are coming off the page. My favorite part of the book is the last pages, where readers can learn more about conservation efforts to help axolotls in the wild.
