A package has arrived at the post office, and it's beautifully wrapped. One by one, hedgehog, skunk, hummingbird, and owl all stop to ask the postman if the package happens to be for them. He cleverly tells them the package isn’t for them, and, since they are all curious, they follow Mr. Fox on his delivery run to see who will get it.

What I Liked: This book begins with a beautiful package sitting at the post office, with the animals stopping by to figure out who this package is for. This book has funny moments, such as the animals being confused and frustrated that the package isn’t for them, and also moments that will help teach children appreciation and patience. There are moments in this story that are harsh, such as the words that the animals say regarding who the package is for, and it isn’t until they realize their mistake that things get remedied. This is a great teaching moment as the animals realize their mistake and have to find a way to remedy this. The illustrations in this book are soft and add to the story; the animals are realistic, and it's fascinating seeing them all work with each other through the various pages.

Final Verdict: Is This Present for Me? is a fun story that helps teach children the value of gratitude and the value of patience. Children ages 4 and up will enjoy this holiday story and love trying to guess who this mysterious package is for. The repetition in this story makes it easy for children to join in with a read-aloud.
