Another great Dessen book about family and friends! The romance of this book kind of takes a back seat to everything else, and I really don't mind. Colie's story was great!

I really enjoyed reading this book and getting to know the characters. They will grow on you as you get to know them. Colie, Mira, Morgan and Isabel, and of course Norman. Great story with real life lesssons about having self esteem and letting go of the things that are in the past, holding you back from being happy.

the moon has a very good lesson about confidence and self-esteem, about
life and about keep trying even when everything sucks. Is about the way
we see ourselves and about letting go those things that are no good to
remember.
Keeping the Moon is a fresh and well developed story about a really interesting subject.
Colie
is a girl who used to be fat, like her mother, and now theyre both
slim and her mother is like a workout queen. But even when the pounds
are gone, inside, she continues feeling really insecure about herself,
remembering all the things they said to her back at home.

remembering all the things they said to her back at home.
But
that summer changes everything and she will find herself and that
confidence shes missing, everything with the help from the new people
around her.

Is
a great story, with a different character. This time is not the pretty
girl, is just a girl trying to find herself, with a lot of issues.
Shes different, not perfect and that makes her easy to identify with.

Another one of Sarah Dessen's amazing novel describes a story of a girl whos mom made t big and now she is forced to live with her aunt. The romance of this novel between her and Derek which this rad sunglasses is so breathing taking. It describes the type of relationship i can see myself being happy in. With her black hair and nose piering to hide her feeling about the way she was considered a WHORE or a "hole in one" from her old school is just a rough exterior she overcomes. I sugest this novel for any teen girls wanting a great storyline with red-hot romance.

The main character in this book is Colie. The author is very good at describing small town things. Colie's mother is KiKi who is a fitness instructor. Colie is the girl that lost all the weight and now has the lip ring. KiKi is doing a tour for her fitness plan. Colie is sent to live with her aunt Mira. Norman comes to pick her up from the train station... Norman has an obsession with sunglasses.
This book is quirky and funn.
Love It!

One of the first books I read by Dessen, and still one of the best :) I loved this, and it's one that I can go back and read and realize a million new details that I hadn't noticed before. Colie is a character everyone can identify with, no matter what. I loved going through her transformation along with Morgan, Isabel, her aunt, and Norman-- a great cast of characters that painted a really amazing picture, something I could easily imagine with believable situations and real emotions.
Loved it.

When I first started this book, I thought it was going to be corny and mushy.
Wow, was I wrong! The novel starts off with a teenage girl named Colie, who is being shipped off to stay with an eccentric aunt for the entire summer while her mother, famous workout-girl "Kiki Sparks" tours the country.
Colie is angry, shy, anti-social, and misunderstood when she arrives at her Aunt's house. However, she soon gets a job waiting tables at a local cafe and meets the two best friends she will ever have that teach her all about life.
This book isn't corny at all. It honestly has a special place in my heart. It's a book that any girl who has ever been feeling lost, shy, or unconfident can relate to.

Colie Sparks is sent to Colby, North Carolina, for the summer to stay with her eccentric aunt Mira, while her mother, queen of the anti-fat infomercial, tours Europe, and she expects the worst. Colie has no friends at home, and doesn't expect to find any in Colby. But then she gets a job at a café, and fellow waitresses Morgan and Isabel show her her true potential, and it's a real eye-opener. This was my first Sarah Dessen book, and I loved it. It deals with finding yourself, something every teenager can relate to.

Fifteen-year-old Colie has a tough time believing in her-self, being recently fat and friendless she expects to always be kicked like a dog. During the summer Colie is sent away to her ants house by her mom. While her mom goes to Europe promoting her famous weight loss programs as Kiki. Colie has been taunted with the words of cruel jokes all her life. This book will take you on a journey of self-discovery, self-respect, and self-esteem. I thought this book was great. Colie didn’t believe, with a little help she not only made her-self believe but everyone around her. Sarah Dessen has written an inspiring novel that I will hold dear to my heart. I also highly recommend The Truth About Forever, Someone like You, Dream Land, and This Lullaby.
