Finally! From the creators of the 10-million-copy bestselling Paint by Sticker® Kids sticker-activity series, a brand new line developed especially for kids ages 3 and up!

The Paint by Sticker Kids® series (for ages 5 and up) has sold more than 10 million copies to date. In My First Paint by Sticker, readers ages 3 and up can confidently paint by sticker, too! At a smaller trim size (8 x 8 inches, versus the original kids brand at 9 x 9), this brand extension features larger stickers for smaller hands—perfect for kids practicing their fine motor skills and learning to recognize their numbers. In the older kids series, the number of stickers per image ranges from 60-100; in My First, the number of stickers ranges from 17-25—an age-appropriate number to build patience and confidence while fostering independent play.

My First Paint by Sticker delivers the same screen-free, mess-free fun that makes the original series so irresistible. The first book in the series features cute farm animals, a natural segue from the bestselling animal-themed Paint by Sticker Kids books, Zoo Animals and Pets. Kids will adore "painting" a joyful jumping goat, an adorable bunny, a charming piglet, a lovable ram, a clever cat, a playful pup, and more!

Painting by sticker is easy, mess-free, and portable (plus, all the pages are perforated so multiple kids can create at the same time!). Created with smaller hands in mind, My First Paint by Sticker combines a lower sticker count with larger stickers for easy maneuvering, and no actual paint means no splatter, drips, or messy clean-up. All you have to do is 1) find the sticker, 2) peel the sticker, and 3) place the sticker on the corresponding numbered space.

MY FIRST PAINT BY STICKER: FARM FRIENDS is a delightful book of easy artwork for preschoolers and young elementary school aged children. The book features 10 different farm animal pictures that children can create by adding stickers to the marked location.

What I loved: This is a fantastic paint by sticker book for little kids. By creating these images, children get to work on number recognition, patterns, and hand-eye coordination. Little ones can match the stickers to the numbers, orient the shape as per the design, and place it carefully. If they are having trouble with the numbers, they can also use key features of the different shapes or designs (such as eyes) to help match them to the correct spot.

The stickers come out of the sticker pages easily, and do pull up well in case they need to be re-placed on the page. This is a self-contained activity with perforated pages that come out easily. This makes it easy to put the stickers and design pages together while working, and to display them once completed. As something clean and small, it's an easy pick for travel or on-the-go.

Another really cool element in this book are some fascinating facts about the different animals presented. I actually learned some new things in reading these aloud (for instance, did you know that cows have the same number of grown-up teeth as humans?).

Final verdict: MY FIRST PAINT BY STICKER: FARM FRIENDS is a delightful way to create artwork for preschoolers and young elementary schoolers. With larger and fewer stickers, this is one that little ones can use to make artwork that they will love to display!

My First: Paint By Sticker Farm Friends is a fantastic addition to the series of interactive sticker books. I worked with a mixed age range of children, and the older children could do the 5 & up version, and the 3 & up crowd could choose animals from this book, making it a fantastic crafting choice. The stickers are bigger and there are fewer of them (although there are still around 20-30 stickers per picture), making it easier for the younger age group. One child happily stuck stickers all over the page and was entertained for thirty minutes. Another child understood the objective better, but didn’t know higher numbers as well, and needed adult support. Through working with this child, I saw the benefits of how the craft activity goes far beyond making artwork of a fun farm animal. The child was working on fine motor skills because a few of the stickers needed to be turned to fit the space correctly. We worked on number matching and identification as we looked at the number by the sticker, and then I would show a small area of choice to look for the numbered space to put the sticker. Based on this experience, I would say it is better suited for maximum benefit to work with one child at a time for the 3 and 4-year-olds, but the five-year-old could independently work on them. I loved that this book does so much more than make fun art. All the children who worked on these pages stayed entertained and focused for thirty minutes. They didn’t finish, but because it is an easily portable activity, they were all able to take them home to finish at another time.
