PASS THE PARCEL is an interesting picture book about packages and how they travel to be delivered. A parcel starts by taking himself to the post office, getting his stamps and then getting passed along to trucks, ships, planes, and more. The parcel is passed along by all these modes of transit as well as various animals who eventually find the one it was intended for - the parcel is empty, just as cat ordered!

What I loved: This is a clever way to introduce the mail and all the ways that mail can travel before it arrives at your doorstep. The parcel was adorable throughout and easy to spot on each page and in each scene. The phrase from the title appears throughout as the parcel is moved from one thing or animal to another as it travels to its destination.

The images are cute and colorful with lots of fun details and modes of transit. The parcel really comes to life along the journey and keeps readers invested in where he is going. The ending was a bit of a twist with the parcel being empty - and perfect for a cat.

What left me wanting more: The book can be pretty lengthy and repetitive which will work better for some readers than others. Additionally, the parcel asks the reader to guess where it is going and keeps it label hidden in a couple places in the story - but the location is not ever revealed, so the reader was asked to guess but not given an answer.

Final verdict: PASS THE PARCEL is a cute and colorful picture book about the ways that packages travel. It will appeal to preschoolers nicely!
