I havent read any witch books in a while so Revealers was a good breakthrough.

I really enjoyed the writing. It was refreshing and didnt have all those really long boring details. It was to the point which is the kind of writing I love best. I like how it doesnt dawdle and goes around in circular motions but instead, like I said, it goes straight to the point.

Besides the writing style, I really liked the plot. Though I didnt consider original or unique, it was still a very entertaining plot which kept me hooked up to the end.

There were some parts of the book that I considered childish. For example, the part where the girls cry out reveal! to reveal the nightmares or monsters was extremely childish and very annoying after a while.

The summary had said that Juless friends are getting completely freaked out, however, when I was done, I noticed that they didnt really freak out. I mean, they were scared and couldnt spill the secrets but they definitely didnt completely freak out. I felt like the summary exaggerated way too much and I had expected more of a &freak out from the girls.

Jules is the oh-so-typical girl hero. Seriously. She has the courage, the strength, the wits to defeat whatever she needed defeating. I felt like there was nothing different about her from the average heroes and definitely wished that something couldve been added.

Okay, I hated Connor. At first, I thought he was sweet but as the plot went on, I really wanted to stab him. Hes such a jerk. He lies, he steals, he sweet-talks, etc. etc. The list can go on. At the end though, he redeems himself and I almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

The ending was also a very typical good-beats-evil sort of ending. It was very easily predicted and I wished there were more of some surprise element in it. Sadly, there werent.

Overall, read Revealers if you wish to be entertained but be prepared to hate Connor. I have warned you.

Revealers is about Jules, the rebellious witch of the coven. All her life her mom has been hiding a secret from her. The witches of the coven find out when they turn 18. As Jules's friends turn 18, Jules realized that the terrible secret must be put to an end.

I wish I could have enjoyed it more. Revealers had the potential to be an amazing book, but it fell short. Revealers had great characters. I loved Jules and all of the minor characters. There was something intriguing about Connor, and the other witches in the coven were also appealing. The coven was also a great idea.

My dislike about the novel was that it felt rushed. When I read the first few pages, I was completely confused. The reader is immediately introduced to several characters and what the witches do. While the rushed feeling continued, the confusion did not. I was able to figure out what was going through the rest of the novel.

Even though, I did not particularly like Revealers, Id still like to read other books about Jules and her friends or the coven. Its a shame Revealers did not go into as much depth as I would have liked. It would have made the novel more entertaining.

These witches are unlike many in literature. Jules and her friends use their powers to kill monsters which threaten humans. Werewolves, ghosts, vampires...you name it and they've dealt with it. Jules and her friends are pretty content with their lives. Jules begins a romantic tryst with the coven leader's son, Connor while the other girls' navigate their own paths.

Except then the girls' initation begins to approach. One by one, as they reach their 18th birthday, the girls' are initiated. And after their initation, none of the girls are the same again. Jules, the youngest, can't make any of her friends tell her anything. But Jules knows that she has to do something-anything- to save her friends, her mother and herself.

I wish the book was longer. Seriously, if only it had been. It had alot of promise but there wasn't enough space in the short 288 pages to develop the plot and characters as much as I'd have liked. The concept of the book was interesting. Not completely original but it did have it's own points.

Jules and Connor's relationship should have been developed better. Not to mention that I found Connor himself to be...kind of...boring. And,Connor's friend, Michael could have played a much larger role, instead of sitting around and waiting for a sentence or two.

I liked reading about the relationship between Jules and her fellow coven members. Their relationships were realistic. There was no perfect, ideal BFF FOREVER! friendship going on, which I liked. Lots of friendships portrayed in books are a bit too unrealistic.

Finally, I loved the plot twist, I just wished it had been delved into more. I won't say anything else about it though because it'll spoil it for you. Anyways, if you ever see this lying around at the library or in a bargain books section, pick it up!
