This helpful book in verse is filled with coping strategies for social and emotional regulation, and can be sung to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

A little boy struggles with a variety of emotions, but has been taught to name them so he can decide how to deal with them. Being angry can be helped by breathing, jealousy can be managed by tensing and releasing muscles, and frustration often responds well to dancing and moving. Frightening situations can be ameliorated with imagination, and disappointment benefits from finding colors in the room. Feelings aren't bad, but can be managed by knowing what to do when faced with them.
Good Points
This ends with a note to caregivers about the power of feelings, as well as descriptoins of several emotional regulation games. The author has also written Punishment-Free Parenting: A Brain-Based Way to Raise Kids Without Raising Your Voice.

The illustrations look very modern, and showcase children on darker backgrounds, first upset, then smiling as they work through their challenges. The facial expressions are well portrayed, and there are often supportive adults assisting the children.

If you need more books to show young children how to cope with Big Feelings, Set My Feelings Free is right at home with Moyles' My Box of Feelings, Willard's Feelings are Like Farts, Wohnoutka's Ups and Downs: A Book of Emotions, Deeley and Powell's Squirrel Draws Big Feelings, Smith and Hanson's Zenguin.
