When her mom is attacked by a wolf, Wren has no choice but to use her magic to try to save her. She manages to kill the wolf, but doesn't make it in time to save her mom. When Wren is thrown into a cell, she realizes that something far worse has happened. She learns that if you kill the wolf, you become the wolf.

With help, Wren escapes her prison and is discovered by Liam. Liam is a Soul Catcher and has the ability to see souls, including the wolf one that resides in Wren. The wolf gets control of Wren's body when the moon is out and has a hunger to kill humans. Because of this, Wren must find her father because according to her mom, he's the only one who can help her. Liam is there to help Wren when she needs it, but Wren also must rely on her magic. It doesn't come easy to her. Magic is banned by their government, so Wren is surprised with how often Liam uses his.

SOUL CATCHERS alternates between Liam and Wren's POV and I enjoyed both characters. I really loved the "Red Riding Hood" elements to the story and the twist of becoming the wolf. I thought it was really cool how Wren looks through the wolf's eyes and can feel his emotions while in that form. It was a very interesting take on shifters and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of wolves, shifters, fantasy, magic, and Little Red Riding Hood.
