The Au Pairs is the story of three very differnt girls who all answer the ad of a rich family looking for some help with thier crazy children over the summer. The girls all come together in the hamptons to take care of the children, but none of the girls are truley focused on caring for the kids. Everyone has alterior motives that play out through the book. One wants to become rich again, another wants to find a rich sugar daddy to hang on, and the third wants to experience the big city.
The story is just plain boring, I couldnt really have cared less about these three girls, to me they all seemed rather stupid and I couldnt see anyone doing most of the things they did. All the girls are really shallow and immature, the story lacks substance and I wouldnt recomend it to anyone.

The AuPairs is about three young women who are taking care of a group of rambunctious, rich children. The story takes place in the Hamptons, an area famous for its wealthy and famous summer occupants.

Eliza is a former IT girl, and is in for a rude awakening when she realizes her new station as a worker rather than a reveler. Mara is small town and innocent, a bit naive and maybe a little bit backward. Jaqui is hot and knows it. And uses it to her advantage.

You will fall in love with the characters even as you want to shake them at times.

The only thing that bothered me about the book was the name dropping and the fad references. I feel those could hurt the timeliness of the story. Will a Hummer H2 really be top of the line in ten years?

Otherwise, a fun read; and a nice peek into the lives of the rich and priviledged.

Classic teen girls having slamming summer vacation. I loved it. Great boys, slamming location and typical girl fights. A great refreshing treat. I recommend it. It totally spices up summer.

A rich New Yorker, Kevin Perry, is going to the Hamptons with his family. He sends out an ad asking for a group of au pairs for his 4 young children. Eliza Thompson and her family and the Perry family are close friends. But after some problems with her dads job, the Thompsons were forced to leave their high society world and move to Buffalo, NY. Kevin Perry offered Eliza the job as a favor to her and for Eliza; its a way to get back into the society where she belongs. The next girl is Mara, a small-town girl who desperately needs the money for college. The last girl is Jacqui. Jacqui, a Brazilian beauty, took the job to look for her former fling, Luke.

The children are nothing like they expected. The girls didnt think that they had to care for the children. At first, Jacqui and Eliza go party to get in with the in crowd, leaving Mara with the children. Then Mara starts getting closer to Ryan, the oldest Perry child. Eliza tries to hook up with her old boyfriend, Charlie, who she broke up with immediately after her father started having problems. Jacqui looks for Luke and finally finds him. But things start to fall apart for all the girls when their real lives collide with their new lives as au pairs.

The girls seem to be living the life. But between problems with the children and problems with their love lives, the girls bond and become good friends. They learn a lot of things, especially to stick up for themselves. And despite the bad parenting skills, everything works out and the girls are invited back during Christmas to watch the kids again.

This book was really, really good. I thought I would like it because I really liked Gossip Girl, but the Au Pairs was a lot better. Of course there was a lot of drama, but it was all interesting. I finished the whole book in one sitting. I really hope that the author will write more books about these characters. I absolutely loved this book and I will recommend this book to all my friends.
