The Monkey, The Cow, and The Wolf is a picture book adaption of a popular Muslim song for kids also written by Zain Bhikha. The illustrations were fun and cartoonish making them an engaging companion to the text. The text seems to be the lyrics to the song following three famous fables from Muslim teachings. If you are outside of the faith, you can kind of follow along even if you are not familiar with the underlying stories but it would likely be more enjoyable if you know the song and the teachings it is based upon. The last story about the wolf was surprising and I did have to google the meaning because it runs counter to what I expected the moral to be.
