The Premonitions Club is a fast paced young adult novel that explores the psychic ability to predict the future. The book is well-researched, and I learned a lot about the different types of psychic premonitions and how each is very different and can sometimes be very dangerous if used by the wrong person. We have a young adult checking out her deceased grandfather's attic and, unexpectedly, with her neighbors and other classmates, help uncover letters that predict all kinds of past historical events that came true and others that were way off the mark. The story unfolds about how those letters ended up in the attic, how the classmates are interconnected, and how their families were part of the Premonitions Club, a government study shut down in 1993. I was intrigued by the concept of this book. I had never read one like it; it felt like this could be based on a real thing. Who knows, maybe it is. It is an outstanding well, well-thought-out indie book.
